Curve Doctor Waist Cinching Corset

Our Favorite Styles for Fun Corsets

Corsets have always been used to cinch the waist and flatter the figure, but since the corsets’ “rediscovery” in the late 1980s, there has been another class of corset, and that is the fun corset.

Be it for lingerie or for a night out on the town, wearing a corset for the purpose of aesthetic rather than body shaping can be a fun and rewarding experience that allows you to embrace an old-world sexiness that can feel hard to achieve with modern tops. The boning and structure of even a cheap corset will often make you stand up straighter and make you more aware of your posture in general.

So here are some of our favorite styles of “fun” corsets!

  1. Lace overlay corset

Often strapless with a sweetheart neckline, these corsets overlay embroidered lace on a satin base. We love the way they look on a black corset with a black overlay on top of a black base material. It adds visual texture without taking away from the sleek sexiness.

  1. Leather corset

While not for the faint of heart, a leather corset can add a whole new dimension of sexy to your day.  Whether it’s soft brown leather with no embellishments, slick, wet-looking pleather or a steampunk-inspired, black leather corset with various accessories, we love the feel and vibe from a leather corset.

  1. Corset with sheer inlay panel

Sheer panels are all the rage in women’s clothing at the moment, and corsets aren’t being spared. We love this style since it incorporates a subtle sexiness into the corset by adding a sheer, triangular panel in the center of the bust. We’ve mostly seen it done on black corsets, but imagine it could also be stunning in white, red, or a variety of other colors.
